I began my career as an Embedded Engineer, building a strong base in C++ and embedded systems. My internship at Valeo as a Validation Engineer sparked my interest in software testing, especially for automotive embedded software. This led me to focus on both manual and automated testing for web, mobile, API, and embedded systems. I also have expertise in performance testing, Agile methods, JMeter, and managing defects. With experience from Valeo and DEPI, I am skilled at delivering reliable, high-quality software ready for use.

ADAS Safety System Project
My graduation project, an ADAS Safety System, was sponsored by Valeo. It successfully integrated IoT, embedded systems, and automotive safety, demonstrating my practical application of advanced theoretical knowledge.

At the Digital Egyptian Pioneer Initiative, Mahmoud actively applied Agile testing methodologies and ISTQB Foundation Level v4 concepts. His hands-on training encompassed a wide array of industry-standard tools and frameworks:

  • Analyzed software requirements using DOORS and designed comprehensive test cases for embedded automotive systems.
  • Executed, simulated, and analyzed test cases using CANoe to validate system functionality and communication performance.
  • Performed diagnostic validation ensuring compliance with automotive communication protocols (CAN).
  • Developed and automated test scripts using Victor Test Studio, integrating automation into the validation workflow.

Valeo Techie Fellowship (2023)
Comprehensive training in Embedded C, ARM Cortex-M, AUTOSAR, RTOS (OSEK), and essential communication protocols: SPI, CAN, LIN, UART, I2C. This fellowship deepened Mahmoud's understanding of automotive embedded systems.
Hands-on development of STM32 projects with FreeRTOS, focusing on multitasking, inter-task communication, semaphores, and mutexes. This training solidified his expertise in building real-time embedded solutions with robust software testing practices.
ADAS Safety Support System Project
This Valeo-sponsored project culminated in a comprehensive ADAS Safety Support System prototype, demonstrating the robust integration of IoT, embedded systems, and automotive safety for critical real-world applications.

  • Tire Burst Early Detection: Implemented with AVR Atmega-32 and sensor integration.
  • Automatic Cooling & IoT Monitoring: Enabled through a mobile application for remote oversight.
  • Parking Assistance: Utilising ultrasonic sensors for precise distance measurement.

Payment System (2025)
Developed an ATM and card transaction simulation by Java, showcasing object-oriented design and financial logic.
Student Grading System (2023)
Created a GPA calculator with full JUnit testing coverage, highlighting a commitment to robust, well-tested code.

Implemented the Data Encryption Standard in C, demonstrating an understanding of secure communication protocols.
